On 17 January 2025, the “Fu Shan Fu Shui Fu Tian Xia — 2025 Australian Chinese New Year Gala” was grandly held at The Star Event Centre in Sydney. Nearly 2,000 guests from Australia’s political, business, community, cultural and media circles gathered to welcome the Year of the Snake, showcasing the vitality of Australia’s multicultural harmony and China–Australia friendship and exchange. During the gala, a special annual awards ceremony was held to honour individuals and organisations that had made outstanding contributions to the Australian Chinese community and to society over the past year. Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin (Chen Ping), Founder and President of the International Chinese Tennis Federation (ICTF), was honoured with the 2025 Australian Sports Contribution Award, in recognition of her many years of work advancing international Chinese tennis, promoting China–Australia sports and cultural exchange, and building a global platform for Chinese tennis. Since founding the ICTF in 2014, Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin has led her team in continuously developing the International Chinese Tennis Open — weaving together competition, culture, travel and international exchange, and drawing thousands of Chinese tennis enthusiasts from around the world — making the ICTF one of the most important platforms for global Chinese tennis exchange. Accepting the honour with gratitude at the ceremony, Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin said: “This honour belongs not only to me, but to every member, partner, volunteer and sponsor who supports the ICTF, and to Chinese tennis lovers around the world. Going forward, we will continue to use tennis as a bridge to connect Chinese communities across the globe, and together take Chinese tennis towards an ever more international future.” This honour is both an affirmation of Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin’s years of dedication and a high recognition of the ICTF’s long-standing work in international sports exchange — and it will inspire the ICTF to continue joining hands with Chinese communities worldwide to build an ever more influential international tennis exchange platform.
