At the height of the southern summer, Sydney Town Hall was decked out in festive splendour as the “Fu Shan Fu Shui Fu Tian Xia — 2026 Australian Chinese New Year Gala”, hosted by the Australia China Business Association, was grandly held. Now in its third consecutive year in Australia, the gala drew representatives of the Consulate-General of China in Sydney, New South Wales government officials, community leaders, entrepreneurs and more than a thousand guests, who came together to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Before the gala began, speeches were delivered by the hosts and distinguished guests, including:

* Mr Su Xinfeng, President of the Australia China Business Association
* Mr Le Liwen, Counsellor of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney
* Mr Tim James MP (envoy of NSW Shadow Premier Kelly Sloane MP)
* Mr Benjamin Cai, Mayor of Strathfield
* Mr Charles Chen, Deputy Lord Mayor of Parramatta

A grand annual awards ceremony followed, at which 15 dignitaries and distinguished guests from several countries jointly presented trophies and certificates of honour to 15 businesses, community organisations and outstanding individuals for their exceptional contributions to the Australian Chinese community and to society.

At this year’s ceremony, Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin (Chen Ping), Founder and President of the International Chinese Tennis Federation (ICTF), was once again honoured with the 2026 Australian Sports Contribution Award.

This is the second consecutive year Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin has received this honour — a resounding affirmation of her years of dedication to developing international Chinese tennis, promoting China–Australia sports and cultural exchange, and building a global platform for Chinese tennis exchange.

Accepting the award, Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin said:
“Receiving the Australian Sports Contribution Award for the second consecutive year, I feel this honour is above all a responsibility and an encouragement. It represents recognition from all sectors of society for the ICTF’s years of work, and it inspires us to keep moving forward. Going forward, we will continue to strengthen the brand and influence of the International Chinese Tennis Open, nurture more junior tennis talent, and promote exchange and cooperation among Chinese communities around the world — making the ICTF an international tennis platform that connects Chinese people across the globe.”

Winning the Australian Sports Contribution Award two years in a row is not only high recognition of Mrs Lucy Chen-Jin’s years of effort, but also a testament to the fine reputation and influence the International Chinese Tennis Federation (ICTF) has built in the field of international Chinese sports exchange.
