2017 Sanya “Greentown · Yishanhu Cup” The 2nd International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament On February 7, 2017, the Sanya “Greentown · Yishanhu Cup” 2nd International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament concluded successfully in Sanya, China. A total of 24 Chinese tennis representative teams and 260 tennis players from the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, Japan, China, and other countries and regions gathered in Sanya during the Chinese Lunar New Year season to celebrate friendship through tennis and participate in this remarkable international sporting event. The tournament was organised by the International Chinese Tennis Federation (ICTF) and exclusively title-sponsored by Greentown Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. Ms. Lucy Chen-Jin, Chairwoman of the International Chinese Tennis Federation, attended the Opening Ceremony as both an honoured guest and tournament player. This prestigious event attracted many internationally renowned Chinese tennis celebrities and distinguished guests. Two-time Grand Slam doubles champion Ms. Zheng Jie attended the Opening Ceremony as a special guest. Famous Chinese singer Ms. Huang Qishan, who has performed multiple times at China Central Television’s Spring Festival Gala, also appeared as both an Opening Ceremony guest and tournament player, adding a rich cultural and artistic atmosphere to the tournament. In addition, Mr. Liu Zhiwei, Special Vice Chairman of the Chinese Tennis Association, attended the Opening Ceremony and participated in the competition, further demonstrating the tournament’s strong influence and prestige within the international Chinese tennis community. During the tournament, the organising committee carefully arranged a grand welcome banquet, colourful cultural performances, and an elegant closing awards banquet. In addition to the exciting competition, players from around the world were able to fully experience Sanya’s tropical coastal charm and the joyful atmosphere of the Chinese New Year celebration. Time flies quickly. The passion and excitement of the inaugural 2016 “Yishanhu Cup” International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament still remained vivid, while the 2017 New Year tennis celebration once again arrived as promised. Holding an international Chinese tennis event at “the edge of the world” during the traditional Chinese New Year season was both romantic and full of energy and excitement. ICTF Chairwoman Lucy Chen-Jin expressed emotionally that although she had lived overseas for more than 30 years, she had always carried a deep love and emotional connection to her homeland. Her passion for tennis inspired her to travel tirelessly around the world over the years, dedicating herself to promoting friendship, cultural exchange, and the development of international Chinese tennis communities worldwide. Through the International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament, she hoped to unite Chinese tennis enthusiasts from around the globe through friendship and sport. Held during the Chinese New Year’s Eve period at Sanya Yishanhu, this international Chinese tennis summit not only allowed players from around the world to experience a high-level international tournament atmosphere, but also gave everyone the opportunity to enjoy the traditional cultural charm of the Chinese New Year and the unique beauty of Sanya, known as “The Edge of the Earth and the End of the Sea.” After intense competition, the Sanya Yishanhu Team won the team championship, Chengdu Yezhifeng Tennis Club claimed the runner-up title, and Beijing Jinyun Tennis Club won third place.
