2017 Miami “Jintong Cup” The 3rd International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament In March 2017, the “Jintong Cup” 3rd International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament was grandly held in Miami, Florida, USA. Organised by the International Chinese Tennis Federation (ICTF) and title-sponsored by the Chinese-American Association of South Florida, the tournament attracted elite Chinese tennis players and enthusiasts from around the world to gather in Miami, celebrate friendship through tennis, and continue writing a new chapter in international Chinese tennis exchange. Ms. Lucy Chen-Jin, Chairwoman of the International Chinese Tennis Federation (ICTF), attended the Opening Ceremony as both an honoured guest and tournament player. Mr. Zhang Xuefeng, President of the Chinese-American Association of South Florida, also attended the Opening Ceremony and participated in the competition. Mr. Tang Jiaying, Head Coach of the Tianjin Tennis Team and former coach of Asian Games men’s singles champion Liu Shuhua, attended the event as a distinguished Opening Ceremony guest. Notably, Mr. Li Qiangmin, Consul General of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston, specially sent a congratulatory message expressing his warm congratulations on the successful hosting of the tournament, fully reflecting the growing influence and unity of the International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament within overseas Chinese communities. At 11:00 a.m. on March 25, 2017, the Opening Ceremony was grandly held at the beautiful Coral Springs Tennis Center in South Florida. Fourteen Chinese tennis representative teams and more than 120 Chinese tennis players from around the world gathered in Miami for this exciting international event. As top tennis players arrived from different countries and regions, the venue was filled with passion, excitement, and celebration. In addition to the tournament competition, the organising committee also arranged a variety of international cultural and travel activities, including two days of viewing the Miami Open, as well as organised tours to New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, and Niagara Falls. Participants also joined an unforgettable 8-day Caribbean cruise departing from Miami, one of the world’s largest international cruise ports. The vibrant city of Miami shone even brighter through the energy and excitement of this international Chinese tennis celebration. The Brilliant Rise of the “Jintong Cup” Since the establishment of the International Chinese Tennis Federation (ICTF) in 2014, ICTF Head Coach Michael Hong Jin devoted himself to training Jeremy Jin from the young age of five. Through talent, dedication, and perseverance, Jeremy Jin quickly rose within the Australian junior tennis world and became widely recognised as a remarkable young tennis prodigy — the “Golden Boy of Tennis.” On February 17, 2017, Jeremy Jin was honoured as the “2016 Best Athlete of Australian Private Schools.” A grand celebration banquet was held at the prestigious Waterview Convention Centre in Sydney Olympic Park. The event marked not only a celebration of achievement, but also the rise of a new young tennis star. In 2017, Jeremy Jin was officially awarded the title of “2016 Australian Private Schools Best Athlete” and also received the “2016 Outstanding Junior Athlete Achievement Award,” becoming one of the most outstanding young Chinese athletes in Australia. Particularly impressive were Jeremy Jin’s exceptional tennis achievements throughout 2016, including winning the prestigious Australian national “Bruce Cup” Boys 12/U Singles Championship. His outstanding talent, champion spirit, and determination laid an important foundation for the birth of the “Jintong Cup.” The creation of the “Jintong Cup” symbolised not only the honour and dreams of Jeremy Jin’s junior tennis journey, but also represented ICTF’s vision and commitment toward the future development and international growth of Chinese youth tennis worldwide. The successful hosting of the Miami tournament further enhanced the international reputation of the International Chinese Tennis Federation, strengthened friendship and cultural exchange among Chinese tennis communities around the world, and continued promoting the global development of international Chinese tennis.
