2019 Barcelona “Bruguera Cup” 11th International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament From May 23–24, 2019, the “2019 Barcelona Bruguera Cup – 11th International Chinese Tennis Invitational Tournament,” organized by the International Chinese Tennis Federation, was successfully held at the renowned Bruguera Tennis Academy in Spain. This prestigious event was jointly supported by Spanish Grand Slam champion Sergi Bruguera and Luis Bruguera, and hosted by the European Chinese Tennis Federation. The tournament brought together elite Chinese tennis players and enthusiasts from around the world to gather in Barcelona for this grand sporting occasion. Lucy Chen-Jin, President of the International Chinese Tennis Federation, attended the opening ceremony as an honored guest and participating player. Representatives from the Barcelona city government, together with distinguished guests from Chinese communities across Europe, also attended the event. More than 80 tennis enthusiasts and 10 Chinese tennis teams from the United States, Australia, Japan, Spain, and major cities across China participated in the tournament. The competition not only showcased the outstanding spirit and skills of Chinese tennis players, but also further strengthened friendship, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange among the global Chinese community. During the event, some participating players also traveled to France to watch the French Open and toured six European countries, experiencing the unique charm of European tennis culture and local traditions. The journey became a memorable and meaningful international sports and cultural exchange experience.
